An amino acid. A 2017 review of 12 studies found that doses under 1 gram a day did not seem to prevent outbreaks; a few small trials at higher doses found fewer outbreaks, others did not.

We read every page of the official site — the video page, both sales letters, the order page and the refund policy — so you can decide in a few minutes. Here is what is inside, what each package really costs per day, and how to get your money back if it doesn't work for you.

Herpafend, checked on the official site on October 17, 2026
Our verdict: a fair thing to try next to your doctor's advice, because the guarantee accepts opened bottles. It does not cure herpes, the doses are not published, and the sales pages promise far more than the evidence shows.

Herpafend is a capsule supplement sold online for people with HSV-1 (cold sores) or HSV-2 (genital herpes). The seller, Herpafend, lists a Miami, Florida address and is the only official store. The site does not name the company that makes the capsules.
No supplement cures herpes. The virus stays in the body for life (WHO). Antiviral tablets from a doctor — acyclovir, valacyclovir, famciclovir — have the strongest evidence for shorter, milder and fewer outbreaks (MedlinePlus). A supplement can only be something you add next to that.
The official site says the same in its fine print: the product "is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease." That is the standard legal notice for every US supplement.
Inside the bottle
The order page shows no label. The long text sales page names the ingredients (checked October 17, 2026), but gives no amounts. Another page speaks of "9 nutrients and herbs," so one may be missing from the list. Here is what independent sources say about each one for herpes.

A plant extract. Lab studies found activity against HSV-1 and HSV-2. In people, it has mostly been studied for colds. Some people are allergic to it.

The herpes study the seller cites tested Sambucus ebulus (dwarf elder) in a lab dish — a different plant from the common elderberry. In people, elderberry has only small studies for colds and flu.

An antioxidant the body needs to heal wounds. The seller does not cite a herpes study for it.

A mineral the immune system needs to work properly. It also plays a role in wound healing. The seller does not cite a herpes study for it.

Common vitamins. Vitamin E helps keep the immune system strong against viruses and bacteria. Too much vitamin D from supplements can raise blood calcium.

What this means for you: the formula is built around lysine, the one ingredient tested in people for herpes, and the results there are mixed. Because the dose is not published, nobody can tell if Herpafend reaches the 1 gram a day that the studies point to. Ask support for the label before you order, or check the bottle when it arrives — you are still inside the 60-day guarantee. More in our L-lysine guide.
Price
Each bottle has 60 capsules, and you take 2 a night, so one bottle lasts 30 days. The order page labels the 2-bottle package a "30 Day Supply," but by the seller's own directions it lasts 60 days. We use the real number of days below.
$79 / bottle
Lowest amount to pay today.
Choose 2 bottles
$69 / bottle
Covers the 90 days the seller recommends.
Choose 3 bottles
$49 / bottle
Lowest cost per day, if you plan to use it for months.
Choose 6 bottlesNote on shipping: the 6-bottle package ships free in the US. The 2- and 3-bottle boxes say "+ Shipping." Check the total at checkout before you pay.
The seller gives each e-book a "normal price" of $125. Treat them as a small extra, not as a reason to buy a bigger package.
Your safety net
This is the part that lowers your risk the most. These are the rules from the official Returns & Refunds page:
You don't have to send back a full or unused supply. You pay the return postage, and the first shipping fee is not refunded. So the real cost of trying Herpafend and not liking it is the shipping plus the postage to send it back. On the 6-bottle package, the US shipping is already free.
One difference to know: the video page promises your money back "within 48 hours," but the written policy says 5–10 business days after approval. Go by the written policy.
Read before you watch the video
Many people search for this review after watching the Herpafend video. Some claims in it are strong. We checked each one. This does not mean the product can't help you; it means you should judge it by the guarantee and by your own results, not by the sales page.
| What the sales pages say | What we found |
|---|---|
| It "eliminates the virus from your body" and leaves you "herpes-free." | Not possible The herpes virus stays in the body for life. No pill removes it (WHO). |
| A doctor and a Harvard researcher developed it; 115 of 120 patients had no more outbreaks. | No source given The page names no study, journal or trial registry, so nobody can check these numbers. |
| "Patented" formula, made in a "GMP-certified facility." | No proof shown No patent number and no certificate on any page we read. |
| "As featured on" TV and news logos. | Not an endorsement The page itself says the product is not endorsed by or affiliated with those outlets. |
| Countdown timer and "low stock" alerts. | No rush needed The prices were the same in both of our checks, on October 16 and 17, 2026. |
| Customer stories with "Verified Purchase." | Names changed The footer says testimonial names were changed for privacy, and results vary. |
| 60-day money-back guarantee, opened bottles accepted. | Confirmed The written refund policy says the same. |
| Lysine, echinacea and elder have been studied against herpes. | Partly true Lysine has mixed results in people. Echinacea and elder were tested in the lab only. |
Safety
The official site does not list side effects, allergens or drug interactions. Without the doses, nobody outside the company can check them for you. What we know about the ingredients:
If you take regular medicine, or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, show the label to your doctor or pharmacist first. Stop taking it and get medical help if you notice a rash, swelling or trouble breathing.
Not sure which type you have? Read HSV-1 vs. HSV-2. Comparing options? See our cold sore supplement comparison.
Avoid fakes
The official site says counterfeits "are being sold on Amazon and eBay," and that the real product is sold only on its own website. A bottle from another store may not be Herpafend, and it is not covered by the guarantee. Some websites also use "Herpafend" in their name and call themselves "official." They are not the store.
Every button on this page opens herpafend.com.
No. No product can. The virus stays in the body for life (WHO). Antiviral medicine from a doctor has the best evidence for fewer and shorter outbreaks.
The official sales letter names L-lysine, vitamin C from camu camu, Echinacea purpurea, elderberry, and vitamins D3, E and B6 with zinc. It does not publish the amounts (checked October 17, 2026).
30 days. A bottle has 60 capsules, and the seller says to take 2 every night before bed.
The seller says some users notice changes within "a few days to weeks," and recommends at least 90 days of daily use. There is no published trial of the product, and results vary.
Yes. The official FAQ says it is a one-time payment with no recurring charges.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist, and bring the product label. Don't stop a prescribed antiviral to try a supplement.
The seller says it is for HSV-1 and HSV-2. For genital herpes, prescription antivirals are the proven treatment, and daily antiviral medicine also lowers the chance of passing the virus to a partner. Talk to your doctor.
The seller says the copies on Amazon and eBay are counterfeit. Buy only on herpafend.com to be covered by the 60-day guarantee.
The site aims to ship within 24 working hours. US orders usually arrive in 3 to 5 business days.
Order only on herpafend.com, keep the order email, and count 60 days from delivery. If it doesn't help, you can send the bottles back, opened or not.
